KER Seminar Event

As world leaders in equine nutrition, KER works exclusively in New Zealand with NRM to design diets, provide consultancy services and deliver educational seminars across the spectrum of equine professions and sports.

This September, join Dr Clarissa Brown Douglas (KER) and NRM Equine Nutritionist Luisa Wood, at four locations across New Zealand for an evening exploring:

  • How To Design a Balanced Diet
  • The Economics of Feeding
  • Giving Attention to Specific Conditions
  • New Research for Performance and Breeding

The seminars will take place at:

  • Karaka Learning Centre, Karaka – 23rd Sept
  • Awapuni Racecourse, Palmerston North – 24th Sept
  • Burnside Rugby Club Rooms, Ivan Milner Lounge, Christchurch – 25th Sept
  • Cromwell Racecourse, Birdcage Building, Cromwell – 26th Sept

TIME: 6.30pm – 9.00pm

ABOUT THE HOSTS 

Clarissa Brown-Douglas

Dr Clarissa Brown Douglas - International Client Services manager for KER. 

Originally from Wellington, Clarissa graduated with an Honours Degree in Animal Science and a PhD in Equine Growth and Development from Massey University. She has worked for KER since 2005 supporting feed manufacturing partners in Europe, Asia, Middle East, Australia and NZ, as well as helping horse owners, trainers, and breeders around the world to optimise their equine nutrition programs. Clarissa has a strong interest in young horse nutrition including growth, breeding and bone development, as well as targeted nutrition for horses with specific health issues such as EMS, obesity and laminitis.   

 

Luisa Wood – Equine Nutritionist for NRM. 

With a degree in Applied Science from Massey University and a Masters in Equine Nutrition from the University of Edinburgh, Luisa’s career in equine nutrition has taken her all around the world. After working for racing stables, studs and performance horse yards in NZ and Europe, Luisa began her career as a research intern for KER in Kentucky in 2009 before moving to Melbourne as a KER nutrition consultant. From there she joined NRM and McMillan Equine as their Equine Nutritionist. Luisa has always had a keen interest in the development of equine feeds and supplements, as well as education on correct feeding methods to produce healthy athletic horses.
