NRM and KER Stud Groom of the Year 2025 T&Cs

Prize:  A trip to visit Stud Farms in Australia, with Kentucky Equine Research (KER), including flights, accommodation and meals. 

 

Competition Period: 6 January 2025 to 28 February 2025 

 

General Terms and Conditions for NRM and KER Stud Groom of the Year Competition 

 

  1. Entry into NRM and KER Stud Groom of the Year Competition (hereinafter referred to as “Competition”) is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.  
  2. The details of the Competition, including any method of entry, eligibility, prize and redemption is provided on these Terms and Conditions. 
  3. The Competition is offered by Farmlands Co-operative Society Limited of 535 Wairakei Road, Burnside, Christchurch 8053, New Zealand (“Promoter”). 
  4. The Competition is open to New Zealand residents and who complete the NRM and KER Stud Groom of the Year Entry Form (“Entry Form”) during the Competition Period and attend an interview following the application submission (“Participant”), to be eligible to win the Prize. The entry form is available at https://nrm.co.nz/stud-groom-of-the-year-2025 or can be accessed by scanning the QR Code provided by the Promoter. You must follow the outlined process and requirements to complete and submit the entry form. The Participant is expected to have some experience working on a recognised equine breeding farm in New Zealand. 
  5. The Promoter will contact the Participant to conduct the interview. The finalists would be interviewed by a panel of judges, consisting of NRM and KER representatives. 
  6. The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of an entrant’s eligibility if there is a doubt over his/her eligibility for the Competition and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.  
  7. The Prize is an educational trip to Australia to visit stud farms related to the Prize-winner’s industry, as well as a visit to the Kentucky Equine Research (KER) headquarters. The Prize covers return flights, meals and accommodation, all as determined by the Promoter. One (1x) Prize-winner will be announced by the Promoter on or after 7 April 2025. The Promoter will contact the Prize-Winner using the contact details provided in the Entry Form. If a Prize winner cannot be contacted with his or her provided contact details or other means, the Prize may, at the Promoter’s sole discretion be forfeited. 
  8. The Prize cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed for cash.  
  9. If the Prize or any part of the Prize is unavailable for any reason, the Promoter in its sole discretion reserves the right to substitute the Prize or part thereof with a prize of equal value and/or specification.  \
  10. The Promoter’s decisions on all matters will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. 
  11. The Promoter may cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Competition or these Terms and Conditions at any time and for any reason before the end of the Competition Period and shall not be liable to any participant or Prize winner for any loss or damage incurred as a result. 
  12. The Promoter takes no responsibility for omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures of any telephone network, computer equipment, software, inability to access telecommunications network services, or any other error or malfunction in respect of the Competition and any resulting failure to record any eligible entries. 
  13. Except for liability that may not by law be excluded, the Promoter shall not be liable under or in connection with these Terms and Conditions and/or this Competition for any cost, expense, loss or damage suffered by any participant, even if such cost, expense, loss or damage was reasonably foreseeable, and whether arising from breach of contract, tort, negligence, breach of statutory duty or otherwise. 
  14. These Terms and Conditions are governed by New Zealand law and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts. 
  15. The Prize winner consent and waive all rights (including copyright and moral rights), to the Promoter using the Prize winner’s name, likeness, image and/or voice (including photograph, film, and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period of time without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this  Competition, and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter.
  16. Participants in the Competition agree not to make any commercial or business use of the Competition to resell or commercially benefit from any part or aspect of the Competition.
